GENERAL NOTIFICATION LETTER
TO THE PUBLIC AND EMPLOYEES
By federal law, a study must be conducted every 3 years to determine
the presence and location of friable and non-friable asbestos material
in all buildings of the Monroe County School System. All buildings
were inspected in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency
guidelines for asbestos containing materials. (i.e., 40 CFR Part 763)
At this time, an inspection of all buildings is scheduled for spring of
2016.
Asbestos can be hazardous. Therefore; we are committed to taking
corrective measures, and our asbestos control efforts will be based on
the advice of experts knowledgeable in asbestos control and abatement techniques.
There are copies of the Asbestos Management Plans on file in each
school building. The Public does have access to this information.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Phillip Carroll,
LEA Designated Person for Monroe County Schools at 423-442-3916.
Thank you for your support as we work together.
Sincerely,
