Pursuant to TCA §2-12-111(a) notice is hereby given to the Voters of
Monroe County that a Federal/State Primary/County General Election will be held Thursday, August 4, 2016 In all voting precincts in
Monroe County.

U.S. House of Representatives-District 3
TN. House of Representatives-District 21
TN. House of Representatives-District 23
Monroe County School Board:
District 1-1 Seat
District 2-2 Seats
District 3-2 Seats
• The first day to pick-up a petition for this election was JANUARY
8, 2016.
• Qualifying deadline will be Thursday, April 7, 2016, at 12:00
NOON for those running as a Republican, Democratic or Independent
Candidate.
• The Withdrawal deadline will be April 14, 2016, at 12:00 NOON.
• First day for armed forces, spouses, and overseas voters to request an
absentee ballot for this election is January 1, 2016.
• First day to receive request for by-mail ballots other than armed
forces and overseas voters for this election is May 6, 2016.
• Deadline for receiving an application for a by-mail ballot July 28,
2016.
• The last day to register in person or by-mail postmark to vote for this
election will be July 5, 2016.

Public Notice for Elderly Voters or Voters with Disabilities
Any elderly voter or voter with a disability whose polling place is inaccessible may vote early, by absentee ballot, or at the Election Commission Office on Election Day. TCA 2-3-109(e) (2) (A). If the voter
chooses to vote at the Election Commission Office on Election Day,
they must complete an affidavit at the Election Commission Office no
later than July 25, 2016, stating that their designated voting location is
not accessible.
NEW PHOTO ID REQUIRMENTS FOR ALL VOTERS.
Tennessee state law requires all voters voting in person to present a
Federal or a State of Tennessee issued photo ID. The ID must contain
the voter’s name and photograph. For more information you may
