A woman was arrested Sunday after she was apparently determined to bring harm to her husband.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy Bill Johnson said he was sent to a Ridge Road home on a call of a woman trying to stab her husband. When he arrived, Johnson said he spoke to Amanda Jean Lizardi, who confirmed she had been arguing with her husband and that she did pull a knife and chase him in the yard.
According to arrest warrants, Lizardi told Johnson that she and her husband had started arguing over disciplining her daughter and that her husband pushed her, so she pushed him back. She said the pushing continued until they started to hit each other.
Lizardi told Johnson she then grabbed a gun and her husband ran out the door, but before she could give chase her two sons took the gun away from her. Lizardi then allegedly grabbed a knife, went outside and found her husband in a shed, chasing him until he ran into a field.
Johnson then spoke to the husband, who confirmed everything his wife had said and that he had to run twice to get away from her.
Amanda Lizardi, 36, was charged with aggravated assault by domestic violence.
