A Madisonville man was arrested Jan. 14 after Madisonville Police, Vonore Police and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation that lasted several weeks.
Madisonville Narcotics Agent David Wear said officers executed a search warrant at a house on Edwards Street looking for Jared Ryan Castle, who had been the subject of the investigation.
Wear said when they went into the house they found Castle in a bathroom along with seven Ziplock baggies containing suspected meth, several empty baggies, a set of digital scales and a Ruger 9mm pistol.
Wear said it was later learned the gun had been reported stolen out of Fannin County, Georgia last November.
Castle, who was also found to have $400 on him, waived his Miranda Rights and allegedly admitted he sells meth as a source of income and does so on a daily basis. He also admitted his $400 was from a drug sale and he had borrowed the gun from a friend for protection.
Castle, 31, is charged with possession of meth for resale, possession of stolen property, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
