The annual meeting of the Friends of the Vonore Public Library is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m., at the Vonore Community Center, located at 611 Church Street.

Wooden calls on her life experiences in Appalachia to weave stories of people’s lives as she strives to bring out the spirit of East Tennesseans.

She plays several native musical instruments that enhance her local tales.

Although viewed as an entertainer, she strives to connect with her audience through humor, old tales and valuable lessons from our past.

Additionally, a supporter of the Armed Forces, she relates stories of “spirit and values” that sustain the members in uniform.

Wooden is a graduate of East Tennessee State University with a master’s degree in story arts.

She is a renowned story teller with many accolades to her credit and has spoken at numerous prominent events.

The public is invited to attend. A short business meeting will be conducted before the speaker.
