Sweetwater High School’s recent cheer clinics were a success thanks to the Tennessee Wesleyan University (TWU) Cheer team. The TWU team has a heart for service. Jasmine Maxwell was featured at the camp, along with TWU teammates Allan Tate, Haley Mitchell, Melvina McCrary and Alyssa Harmon. Maxwell and Harmon are both SHS alumni who now cheer for TWU.

“I always love volunteering my time to the Sweetwater High School cheer program due to being an alumni,” said Maxwell. “SHS was a family to me during my four years and gave me so much. I just want to give back to the program and give that same experience to someone else.”

At the clinic, participants learned about proper technique, advice for tryouts and tips for nutrition and fitness. They also played games and stunted with the TWU team.
