Sweetwater’s Main Street Marketplace will reopen on Saturday, March 16.

The Main Street Marketplace is an outdoor area for vendors, located downtown at the corner of Main Street and Monroe Street. It first opened last year and has become a hub of activities with various vendors and food trucks setting up in the warm weather months.

Saturday’s reopening will be celebrated with a variety of activities, said Kassie Kelley-Watson, director of the Main Street program for Sweetwater. It will be an all-day event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To celebrate the reopening, Lucky the Leprechaun will be on hand to take photos with visitors. In addition, there will be a kids’ scavenger hunt with prizes.

“Everyone will get a prize,” Kelley-Watson said.

Participants in the scavenger hunt should meet at the gazebo in the center of town at 2 p.m. There will be music playing at the gazebo, as well.

As of Tuesday, the forecast for Saturday was for the weather to be cool but dry.

For more information or to sign up for a vendor spot at the Marketplace, contact Kelley-Watson at 423-337-5976.
