A Sweetwater man was arrested in Madisonville Saturday after he was allegedly found passed out in the Walmart parking lot.

Officer Dylan Bledsoe said he and other officers went to the store and found the man in a black Mazda, appearing to be asleep. Bledsoe said he opened the door to check on the man and he woke up. Bledsoe then asked the man to get out of the car and he did.

The man was identified as Dominick Michale Brown, 29, Sweetwater-Vonore road. Bledsoe said he could smell alcohol on Brown and noted that his eyes were watery and his speech was thick and slurred.

Bledsoe asked him if he’d drunk anything and Brown said no, then started talking about a toy and a microphone. Blesdsoe said neither he or any of the other officers had any idea what he talking about.

Brown the failed some field tests and a search of his car turned up a marijuana blunt, a clear baggie with suspected marijuana leafs in it and five miniature bottles of alcohol, three of them empty.

Brown was charged with simple possession of marijuana, DUI and open container violation.
