Deadline for submissions is noon on Monday for the Wednesday paper and noon on Wednesday for the weekend edition. Items will run as space is available and we cannot guarantee items will run more than one time. Free bakery/produce distribution
The Tellico Plains Food Pantry will have free bakery and produce distribution from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 2 and Feb. 16.
The NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees organization) February meeting will be held at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Western Sizzlin’ Restaurant in Athens. Please arrive around 11:20 a.m. if you want to order a meal. Speaker will be Lisa Dodson, director of Main Street Athens. Everyone welcome!
Free spay/neuter vouchers
SNAP will issue free spay/neuter vouchers from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Cora Veal Senior Center in Madisonville. Monroe County residents who meet SNAP low-income criteria can obtain multiple vouchers to fix all of their pets.
The Rhea-Craig Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Cherokee District TN State, will meet at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, in the conference room of Sweetwater Public Library. Mrs. Diane Walter will present a program on Avery Trace-Kingston to Nashville. Hostess will be Mary Adams.
