A Ten Mile couple was arrested Tuesday evening after someone called authorities and said they were having sex in an SUV at the car wash.
Sweetwater Police Officer Brandon Cansler said he went to the car wash at the end of the Plaza 68 Shopping Center around 5:30 p.m. and found the gold-colored SUV that had reportedly been sitting there for a long time.
While he did not walk up on anything out of the ordinary, Cansler said he found a woman with the driver’s seat reclined all the way back and a man sitting in the passenger seat.
Cansler said he knocked on the window and the woman, later identified as Susan Caylor, opened the door. As soon as she did, Cansler said he could smell what appeared to be the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
Cansler had Caylor and the man, identified as Larry Lynn, get out of the SUV as he ran a check on the tag and was told there was no insurance on the vehicle.
Cansler said with the suspected smell of marijuana coming out of the vehicle and it not having any insurance, he looked around inside. Under the front passenger seat, Cansler said he found a cigarette pack. Inside the pack, Cansler said, was a small bag of suspected marijuana and a second bag that contained suspected meth.
Neither Caylor or Lynn would claim ownership of the suspected narcotics, but a check on Caylor showed she was wanted for a violation of probation out of McMinn County.
Caylor, 46, and Lynn, 48, were both arrested and charged with possession of meth and possession of marijuana. When they arrived at the jail, a search of Caylor allegedly turned up a small baggie of suspected marijuana. Inside the baggie was also several different pills, and three small bags that contained suspected meth, investigators said.
Caylor had charges of possession of meth, possession of Alprazolam, simple possession of marijuana and introduction of contraband into a penal facility added.
