A Madisonville man was arrested May 7 after he brandished a machete in a reported fight.
Madisonville Police Officer Dylan Bledsoe said it was around 8 p.m. when he went to a house on Highway 411 on a report of a fight and found two men, identified as Ron Hess and Kenneth Paul Collier III.
Bledsoe said Hess told him he saw Collier riding a bicycle down the highway and confronted him about some tools Collier had allegedly stolen from him.
Hess said Collier became aggressive, something other witnesses said also, and produced a machete and two pocket knives.
Collier allegedly had the machete in his hand when Bledsoe arrived. When Bledsoe searched Collier’s backpack, the officer said he found a medicine bottle that contained a crystal-like substance thought to be meth and other drug paraphernalia.
Hess told Bledsoe he did not want to pursue any charges against Collier for the altercation, but Beldsoe still arrested Hess, 25, Old Highway 68, Madisonville, charging him with possession of a schedule II narcotic and possession of drug paraphernalia.
