Deadline for submissions is noon on Monday for the Wednesday paper and noon on Wednesday for the weekend edition. Items will run as space is available and we can not guarantee items will run more than one time. Chili cook off/pie-n-cake auction

Brown Hill Church will be hosting its annual chili cook off and pie-n-cake auction at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 16 in the fellowship hall. Judging for the chili will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the auction. Hotdogs will be served with the chili. Brown Hill Church is located at 1526 Mecca Pike in Tellico Plains.

The Mobile American Job Center Bus, sponsored by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, will be in the Madisonville Public Library parking lot from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21 to help with resumes and job searching.

The Madisonville Public Library will have a Job Fair from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, March 21. Various companies will be present, accepting resumes and scheduling interviews. There will also be local organizations available to help with getting training for a new job.

Sweetwater Public Library will hold Pokémon League from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 7 and again on March 21 for fans of the trading card game, Pokémon Go, or those just interested in the Pokémon craze.

The Citico Volunteer Fire Department will have a potluck dinner at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 at the Fire Hall.

Chili supper/auction

Christianburg Volunteer Fire Department will have its 10th annual chili supper/auction on Saturday, March 30. Supper starts at 6 p.m. and auction begins at 7 p.m. For a $5 donation meal includes chili, hot dog, chips, dessert and drink. The Marcella Center for the Arts & Education in Sweetwater will have youth and adult creative art classes on the second and fourth Saturday of each month, beginning on March 30.
