Madisonville Police Narcotics Agent David Wear had a busy couple of hours as Tuesday turned into Wednesday this past week.

Wear said it was around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday when he saw a man walking on Isbill Road near Security Finance. Wear said he stopped to see what the man was doing walking in the area at that time.

Wear said the man, identified as Nathan Shane Palmer, appeared to be under the influence of something and kept flailing his arms as he talked. Wear said Palmer acted disoriented with erratic behavior and eventually produced two glass pipes with a white residue in them.

Palmer allegedly told Wear he had smoked meth earlier in the evening and then pulled what appeared to be marijuana from his pocket.

Wear said he then took Palmer, 39, Madisonville, into custody, charging him with simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication.

About an hour and a half later, Wear said he was driving past the Motor Inns of American on New Highway 68 when he saw a white Kia Soul parked at the hotel. Wear said he had been told that someone was reportedly selling drugs outside of the hotel in a white Kia Soul.

Wear said he watched the car pull away from the hotel and when it failed to use a turn signal before turning onto Isbill Road, he had a reason to pull them over.

Wear said the driver was identified as Lexus Harris and the passenger was Johnathan Blaine Feezell. As he was talking to them, Wear said he could smell what appeared to be marijuana coming from inside the car.

Wear asked if he could search the car and Harris said he could, but Officer Kyle Day, who was on the other side of the car, said he saw Feezell crushing something in his hand. When the officers looked, they found what appeared to be meth in Feezell’s hand.

Wear said when Harris got out of the car, she brought with her a medicine bottle containing a baggy of suspected marijuana and two orange pills identified as Oxymorphone. A set of scales were also found in Harris’s purse.

Harris, 19, Lakeview Circle, Madisonville, was charged with simple possession of marijuana, simple possession of Oxymorphone and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Feezell, 23, Ferry Street, Loudon, was charged with possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
