Dennis “Denny” Graham will be the new director of the Emergency Management Agency (EMA) for Monroe County, Mayor Mitch Ingram announced on Monday.
“Mr. Graham is a disciplined leader with the proven ability to remain calm and deliver results in high pressure situations,” said Ingram. “We are very excited to have him as part of our Monroe County leadership. Denny brings a strong background of logistics in many areas of emergency training. He will work unbiased with all branches of our emergency service providers in Monroe County.”
Graham comes to the position with many certifications and trainings acquired through the Emergency Management Institute of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) over the last nine years, including but not limited to: hazardous materials, incident command, active shooter and federal disaster operations.
Graham said he prides himself on his ability to assist diverse populations with compassion, patience and understanding while demonstrating his ability to use discretion wisely and to make positive impressions within the community he serves.
“I am thankful for the opportunity that has been given to fill this position,” said Graham. “I am looking forward to working with all emergency personnel in the future. We are fortunate in Monroe County to have exceptional emergency services with personnel who have excellent training. I believe that EMA, combined with those resources, will provide Monroe County with the highest levels of security and safety in the event of any emergency situation.”
