An alleged drug deal in one parking lot led to a wreck in another lot after the alleged seller decided to he wanted the marijuana back on Sept. 2, investigators said.
Madisonville Officer Adam Russell said it was around 10 p.m. when he was sent to the CVS on Highway 411 to check on an accident with injuries.
Russell said he found Dennis Moore in the parking lot. Moore allegedly admitted he had bought marijuana from Gregory Cole Ballard in the Walmart parking lot.
Moore also told Russell when the deal was done, he rode off on his motorcycle and Ballard chased him with his car.
According to Moore, Ballard struck his motorcycle with his car and Moore wrecked into the CVS parking lot.
Moore said Ballard then walked up to him, took the marijuana and $215 in cash, returned to his car and left.
Russell said Moore hurt his knee in the wreck, but refused transportation, saying he would take himself to the hospital.
The officer put out look out bulletin for the Ballard’s car and he was picked up early the next morning by Loudon County authorities.
Ballard, 22, Barnes Lane, Vonore, was charged with aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to give information and render aid.
He was also wanted on a theft warrant out of Anderson County.
