A Tellico Plains area man was arrested on a rape charge after he allegedly attacked his wife, accusing her of cheating on him.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy Hailey Burrell said she went to a home on Croft Road March 14, around 8:30 a.m., and talked to the wife who said her husband, Randall Lee Ogle, had started arguing with her when she came home at 8 a.m.
She told Burrell he tried to take her ring off her finger, pushed her against the couch and punched her in the mouth.
She said this was done in front of their four children, who eventually became scared and went to another room.
She told Burrell that Ogle bent her over the couch and violated her with his fingers. She said he then took her phone and keys away and she had to call 911 from her daughter’s phone.
For his part, Ogle reportedly told Burrell his wife was cheating on him and she had been gone all night with another man. He admitted to trying to take the ring off her finger and said he had pulled her pants down to “check her.”
Ogle, 35, was charged with rape, assault by domestic violence and interfering with emergency calls.
