Two men were arrested Tuesday night after one allegedly picked up some medicine at a Sweetwater pharmacy and gave it to the other one.
Sweetwater Police Officer Daniel Johnson said he talked to the owner of Wil-Sav on New Highway 68, who said Jason Barker had picked up some Alprazolam and appeared to be selling it in the UGO parking lot across the road.
Johnson said he went over to the parking lot and kept out of sight, allowing him to allegedly see Barker passing 17 pills to Kenny Nix.
Johnson then approached the men, read them their rights and asked what was going on. Nix told Johnson he had loaned some pills to Barker the day before and was now getting them back, according to arrest warrants.
Barker told Johnson he had sold the pills to cover the cost of the prescription.
Johnson said a search of Nix turned up three Lyrica pills and one Hydrocodone pill. Johnson said both men had been seen by other officers driving their cars into the parking lot and both had revoked licenses.
Barker, 41, Highway 68, Niota, was charged with the sale of Alprazolam and driving on a revoked license while Nix, 58, County Road 235, Philadelphia, was charged with the sale/delivery of Lyrica, possession of Hydrocodone and driving on a suspended license.
