Street closed for cleanup

A Street next to Sweetwater Creek in Sweetwater was closed several days last week due to a leak cleanup at Bryant Boats. “Over the weekend, we experienced a leak in our resin tank,” the company said in a statement. “Quick reaction from our team contained the leak and addressed environmental impact. We are following all recommended practices.” The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) on Thursday released a statement about the cleanup efforts: “TDEC was notified on Aug. 27 of a resin leak at Bryant Boats,” the statement said. “The release has been contained and a contractor is on site conducting cleanup at the coordination of the company. TDEC staff visited the site on Aug. 28 and did not observe additional environmental impacts.”
