Woman crashes car texting while driving

A Sweetwater woman is facing several charges after Sweetwater Police said she crashed her car into a parked car in front of Sweetwater Elementary School because she was texting while she was driving. SPD said the accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, May 14. SPD said witnesses told officers that Candice McDermott was traveling at a high rate of speed and appeared to be texting while she was driving. She was charged with driving on a revoked license, reckless driving and no proof of insurance.
