Football is back

The 2018 football season is underway in Monroe County! The Sweetwater High School Wildcats kicked off the action on Thursday night at Meigs County, but took a beating to the Tigers, losing 47-7. Pictured, SHS quarterback Hunter Jenkins tries to shift around Meigs County’s defense. Jenkins was injured in the first half and unable to play the rest of the game. See coverage of the Sweetwater game on B1 of the Aug. 19 edition.

Tellico Plains High School was set to host county rival Sequoyah High School on Friday night. Look for coverage from the Bears vs. Chiefs game in the Mid-Week (Aug. 22) edition.

I am glad that foot ball season is underway. As a sportsman when someone bring the news about football then edubirdie excites and I start wait for the matches. Now I am ready to view my child football match in his school.
