Blue Moon Rising performed before a sold-out crowd at the Farm to Table dinner in Sweetwater on Friday. Blue Moon Rising is an internationally recognized bluegrass band based out of East Tennessee featuring Monroe County’s own Tim Tipton and Keith Garrett. The band has released a total of six studio albums with the seventh, “After All This Time,” coming soon. Sweetwater Mayor Doyle Lowe presented the band with a plaque showing their first number one single, “Louisville Rambler,” from the soon-to-be-released album. The new album also features original Blue Moon Rising member Justin Moses, also of Madisonville. Currently, the band is made up of Chris West (vocals and guitar), Brandon Bostic (dobro and guitar), Garrett (mandolin and vocals), Justin Jenkins (banjo), Randall Massengill (guitar and vocals) and Tipton (bass).
