Evelyn Dorothy Barnes

Evelyn Dorothy Barnes of Nashville, formerly of Monroe County, passed away Tuesday, July 1, at St. Thomas Hospice in Nashville. She was a member of New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church, joining July 30, 1943. She also attended River Road Baptist Church and West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Nashville.

She was 79.

Preceded in death by: parents, William Harris and Virgie Brakebill; sister, Elizabeth Bivens; and brothers, Robert and Edward Brakebill.

Survivors include: husband-Owen G. Barnes of Nashville;

Daughter and son-in-law-Becky and Terry Woodard;

Granddaughter and husband-Jennifer and Ty Sharp;

Great-grandchildren-Colton and Christiann Sharp, all of Joelton;

Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, in Biereley-Hale Chapel, with the Rev. Chad Schaffer officiating. Interment will be New Hope Cemetery, with Rev. Rick McClain officiating. Family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m., Sunday. Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, in charge of arrangements.
