Iva Phillips

Iva Phillips of Sweetwater, passed away on Wednesday, July 2. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sweetwater and retired from the U.S. Five and Ten Cent Store, after 25 years of service.

She was 93.

Preceded in death by: husband, Glenn “Dude” Phillips; parents, Wiley and Bettie Stout; brothers, Paul, Tom, Roscoe and Kenneth Stout; sisters, Johnnie Lee Bryant, Ellaree Viars; and three infant sisters.

Survivors include: sisters-in-law-Virginia Stout of Sweetwater; Frieda Stout of Naylor, Mo.;

Brother-in-law-Herb Viars of Longview, Wash.;

Special niece-Jackie Ervin of Riceville;

Special friend-Sussie Patterson of Sweetwater;

Several other nieces and nephews.

The body is at Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, where the family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m., Saturday, July 5, with the funeral service to follow in Kyker’s Chapel with the Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery. Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, in charge of arrangements.
