Walter Lee Gibson

Walter Lee Gibson of Sweetwater, passed away at 7:20 p.m.,
Monday, June 22, at his home. He was retired from the U.S. Army and served in
the Vietnam War.
He was 67.
Preceded in death by: son, Mark Walter Gibson; parents,
Bruce and Mary Wilson Gibson; sisters, Zephalene Hunley and Cozetta Webb;
brother, Bruce Kenneth Gibson.
Survivors include: wife-Phyllis Shaw Gibson;
Daughters and sons-in-law-Karen and Rodney Broyles of
Sweetwater; and Dee and Tom Byrnes of Chesterfield, Mo.;
Sons and daughter-in-law-David and Amma Bell Gibson and Ron
Gibson, all of St. Charles, Mo.;
Grandchildren-Hannah and Ethan Broyles, Sarah Byrnes,
Steven, Michelle and Michael Gibson;
Sisters-Lorene Jones of Arizona; Anna Lydia Gibson of
Cinncinnati; Nadine Matthews of South Carolina; and Sandra Cooper of Rose Hill,
Va.;
Brothers-James Enos Gibson and Claude Everette Gibson, both
of Rose Hill; Herman Eugene Gibson and Lynn Gibson, both of Ohio;
Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m., Wednesday, in Biereley-Hale
Chapel, with Dr. Terry L. Simpson and Rev. Carl Oakes officiating. Interment
will be 11 a.m., Thursday, in Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park with military
honors provided by the U.S. Army. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.,
before the funeral. Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, in charge of
arrangements.
