Dr. William Frank Johnston of Madisonville, died peacefully
at home Thursday, June 25. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S.
Army. He retired from dentistry after 35 years. He loved Habitat for Humanity
and was an active and faithful member of Madisonville Presbyterian Church. He
was a 10-year cancer survivor.
He was 87.
Preceded in death by: parents, Leon and Helen Johnston and
brother, Gene Johnston.
Survivors include: wife-Elizabeth Norman Johnston;
Daughters and sons-in-law-Betsy and Bill Gillis of Newnan,
Ga.; and Patsy and Rick Harris of Knoxville;
Grandchildren-Matt, Chris and Erin Gillis.
Graveside and interment will be 10 a.m., Saturday, in Haven
Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Sweetwater VFW Post
#5156 and DAV Chapter #93. A memorial service and visitation will follow at 11
a.m. at Madisonville Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to the American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity or the Good Shepherd
