Norman Jay Rhodes

Norman Jay Rhodes, age 68, of Sweetwater, passed away Thursday, July 2.  He retired from General Motors after several years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. 

He was 68.

Preceded in death by: his parents. 

Survivors include: his wife of 48 years-Ethel Glennis Rhodes;

Son-Allen R. Rhodes both of Sweetwater;

Brothers and sisters-in-law-David Norris and Pat Rhodes Jr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Eugene Bruce Rhodes of Poway, Calif.; Marvin Dale and Gudrun Rhodes of Gloucester Point, Va.; Randall Wayne and Nell Rhodes of Grand Prairie, Texas;

Sisters and brothers-in-law-Gay Dawn Weber of Grand Prairie; Edna Kay and Jack Brown of Madisonville; Annie Ruth and Ronnie Marvin of Kenton, Ohio; Doris Jean Altizer, of Ashland, Va.; and  Margaret Gail Rhodes of Madisonville. 

Several nieces, nephews and many special friends.

The body is at Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, where the family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., Sunday, July 5, with the funeral service to follow in Kyker's Chapel with Rev. Michael Newton officiating. Interment to follow in the Sweetwater Memorial Park. Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, in charge of arrangements.
