J. Boyd Cook

J. Boyd Cook of Madisonville, went home to be with the Lord at 10:18 p.m., Monday, Nov. 9, at Sweetwater Hospital. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kingston. He was a wonderful husband and a kind and generous father who will be greatly missed.

He was 91.

Preceded in death by: parents, Charles and Katie Easter Cook; sister, Marie Martin; and brother, Glenn Cook.

Survivors include: wife of 69 years-Evelyn Shultz Cook;

Daughter and son-in-law-Dana and Roger Syrja of Madisonville;

Sons and daughters-in-law-Dave and Pat Cook of Sterling Heights, Mich.; and Ray and Jan Cook of Commerce Township, Mich.;

Six grandchildren;

Seven great-grandchildren;

Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m., Thursday, in Biereley-Hale Chapel, with Dr. Ray Bearden officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m., Friday, at Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:30-7 p.m., before the funeral. Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, in charge of arrangements.
