Arthur Lee Scott of Niota, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Parkwest Medical Center. A native of Loudon County and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Clarence Scott Sr. and Annie Lou Mooney Scott. He was a member of Commuity Baptist Church in Niota, where he served as a deacon for more than 20 years and a former employee of Miller Concrete and Woods Concrete Company.

He was 74.

Preceded in death by: his wife of 49 years, Lillie Mae Thompson Scott, March 9, 2009; and brother, J.B. Scott.

Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law-Deanna and Jimmy Garrett of Niota; Terry and Terry Franks of Sweetwater; Debbie and Dean Weddington of Sweetwater; and Tracy and Chip Humphreys of Tellico Plains;

Ten grandchildren;

Ten great-grandchildren;

Sister and brother-in-law-Martha and David Edgmond of Sweetwater;

Brothers and sisters-in-law-Clarence Jr. and Marilyn Scott of Loudon; Frankie and Wanda Scott of Paint Rock; Charlie and Mary Scott of Sweetwater; and Louise Scott of Sweetwater;

Several nieces and nephews

Special friends-Jeff and Mary Moses and family.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, at Community Baptist Church in Niota with the Rev. Jeff Moses, Rev. Gary Rolen and Rev. David Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Community Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Dentino, Joshua Franks, Jeremy Scott, Wayne Scott, Jeff Smith, Kenny Miller and Randall Rolen. Honorary pallbearers will be Scottie Weddington, Eric Rolen and Eddie Scott. Family and friends may call at their convenience after 2 p.m., Thursday, at the church and 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Friday, prior to the service at the church. Ziegler Funeral Home, Athens, in charge of arrangements.
