Tincie “Tiny” Mae Freeman, of Tellico Plains, made her journey home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of the Towee Falls community, where she dedicated her life to the hard work of raising her children and grandchildren.
Tincie loved the beauty and fragrance of fresh flowers and now she walks the beautiful gardens of Heaven in the presence of the Lily of the Valleys.
Large family gatherings at “Mamaw’s House” warmed her heart and brought joy to her soul. Mamaw’s House has always been filled with the love and laughter of generations of her children, grandchildren and, now, great-grandchildren. The door at Mamaw’s House was always open to family and friends, with never a knock being required.
Tincie loved her Lord and Savior and was a faithful and cherished member of Towee Falls Baptist Church.
She was 94 years old.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Harold Freeman; son, Arlis Freeman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter “Doc” and Mary Lou Shell, Charlie Shell and Rhoda Shell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Olie Jones, Haley and Elbert Jones, Ada and Frank Brannon, Sallie Smith; son-in-law, Kenneth Merrell.
Survivors include: her daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Walter Merrill, Darlene and Norman Jones, Margie and Curtis Crowder, Rosie Merrill;
Sons and daughter-in-law, Heartley and Inez Freeman, Archie Freeman;
Daughter-in-law, Thelma Freeman;
Fourteen loving grandchildren;
Many special nieces and nephews.
The family received friends beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, at Towee Falls Baptist Church. The funeral was at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, at the church with Jeff Pike and Rev. Bob Morgan officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
