James “Jimmy” Crowder, of Sweetwater, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, March 4, 2019, at the family home. He was a well-known logger and mechanic. He was a member of Out Post Mission Church in Sweetwater, and served on the Christianburg Volunteer Fire Department Board.

He was 75 years old.

Preceded in death by: his parents, Roy and Edna Crowder; brother, Roy Crowder; daughter, Tammy Crowder Burleson.

Survivors include: his wife of 49 years, Gail Crowder;

Daughter, Tracy Crowder Schmitt;

Grandson, Nick Burleson;

Brother, Dennis Crowder;

Godson, Jamie Davenport;

Great-granddaughter, Kareena Burleson;

Mother-in-law, Bessie Franks, all of Sweetwater;

Several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Kyker Funeral Homes in Sweetwater. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in Kyker’s Chapel, with the Rev. Terry Franks and the Rev. Blanch Settles officiating. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019, in the Christianburg Cemetery.
