Billie Brown, of Tellico Plains, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019. He attended Long Ridge Baptist Church. He retired from the United States Forest Service in 2003, after 36 years and 11 months of service. He was a member of the Brown Hill Masonic Lodge for 64 years.

He was 86 years old.

Survivors include: his wife of 68 years, Marjorie Brown;

Sons and daughters-in law, Billie Wayne and Derinda Brown, James and Ann Brown, Ray and Karen Brown;

Daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Bobby Franklin, all of Tellico Plains;

Nine grandchildren;

Fifteen great-grandchildren;

Six great-great-grandchildren;

Sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Walter Brown Jr. of Nashville;

Brothers-in-law, Donald West of Tellico Plains, Dale West of Etowah.

The family received friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home in Tellico Plains. A masonic service will be held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019 in Biereley-Hale Chapel, with the Rev. Bruce Poplin, the Rev. Steve Teague, and the Rev. Dean Hamby officiating, with funeral service to follow. Burial will follow the service at Epperson Cemetery.
