James Christopher “Chris” Crowder, 45, a resident of Englewood, formerly of Tellico Plains, passed away on Tuesday evening, Jan. 28, 2020, at his home.
He was born on March 11, 1974, in Maryville. Chris was a member of Allen Memorial Methodist Church in Athens. He was a retired law enforcement officer.
He is preceded in death by: his grandparents, James N. Crowder and Bobbie Sue Bates Crowder.
Chris leaves behind to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Martha Chastain Crowder;
One son, James Blake Crowder;
Parents, Tim and Sue Walker;
Two brothers, Gerald Scott Kirkland and his wife Savannah, and Nathan Walker;
Numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
The family received friends on Monday, Feb. 3, 2020, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home, located at 400 S. White Street. A memorial service followed the visitation time at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Charla Sherbakoff officiating.
Honorary pallbearers included Neil Turpin, Marty Jenkins, Magan Shaw and Allen Morris.
