Bruce Young, of Englewood, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019. Bruce loved the Dragstrip and racing.

He was 76 years old.

Preceded in death by: his parents, John and MaryNell Young; brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Brenda Young; sister-in-law, Celesta Chambers.

Survivors include: his wife of 50 years, Sue Young;

Children and their spouses, Jeff and Raeann Young, Jason and Tina Young;

Grandchildren, Shelby and Tyler Snell, Kelsey Young and Taylor Watson, Megan Young;

Great-grandchildren, Eleanor Snell, Paxton Snell;

Brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Margaret Young, Reece and Robin Young, Brunner and Trish Young, Paul and Becky Young, Glenn and Louise Young;

Sister-in-law, Edna McLemore;

Brother-in-law, Bill Chambers;

Several nieces and nephews;

Many close friends;

One very special nurse, Jenny Gunter.

The family received friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah. The funeral service followed at 7 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick Atkins and the Rev. Joe Clark officiating. Family and friends assembled at the funeral home at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019, and proceeded to McMinn Memory Gardens for the 10 a.m. committal service. Pallbearers were John Lipps, Stan Young, Jeremy Young, Mike Bell, Tyler Snell and Taylor Watson.
