Tony Lee Plemons, of Sweetwater, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at U.T. Medical Center. He coached T-ball, and minor and major league Dixie Youth Baseball. He took the first minor league All-Stars team from Monroe County to the state tournament in 1985. He loved Ohio State Buckeyes, and playing guitar with family and friends.

He was 62 years old.

Preceded in death by: his parents, Vernon Plemons and Betty Derrick; brother, Eddie Plemons.

Survivors include: his wife of 40 years, Peggy Kile Plemons, of Sweetwater;

Son, Carl Plemons, of Miamisburgh, Ohio;

Stepsons and spouses, Tim and Julie Allen, of Gallatin, Jeff and Cris Allen, of Jacksboro;

Brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Barbara Plemons, of Huber Heights, Ohio, Billy Plemons, of Pasadena, Calif.;

Sisters and brother-in-law, Pat and Randy Burns, of Knoxville, Brenda Stout and Kathy Plemons, both of Sweetwater;

Grandchildren, Josi and Tucker Gilbert, of Miamisburg, Ohio, Cole and Quinn Allen, of Gallatin, Harley Allen, of Cullman, Ala., Cameron Carr, of Michigan, Jace and Colton Allen, of Jacksboro.

Special thanks to my sister, Shirley Kile, the doctors, nurses and CNAs at U.T. TSICU and the fourth-floor cardiac wing.

Graveside service and interment will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Sweetwater Memorial Park, with Kevin Mullin officiating.
