Cliffette Peals Sloan, of Maryville, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019. Member of First Baptist Church of Madisonville. She was a former co-owner of the Tellico Pride and Sloan Center, and a beauty shop owner for many years.
Cliffette Sloan was a woman who fiercely loved her family and friends. She woke early each day and greeted the world with a “good morning.” She lived to serve others and you never doubted her love; her smile and laughter would fill a room. The world is dimmer without her presence, but we know she is rejoicing in Heaven with her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She was 72 years old.
Preceded in death by: her parents, Clifford McKinley and Mary Louise Fouts Peals; brother-in-law, Mike Cole.
Survivors include: her husband, Steve Sloan;
Son and fiancée, Barney Atkins and Melanie Sloan Phillips;
Stepdaughter, Kelleye Swanson;
Grandchildren, Jai Atkins and fiancée, Danielle Tindell, Jazzlyn Atkins;
Step-grandchildren, Cody and Evan Swanson;
Sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie Peals Prozney and John Prozney, Elouise Peals Garrett, Linda Peals Cole, Victoria Peals Wear and Jimmy Wear, Stephanie Peals Tucker and Gary Tucker, Bridget Peals Brown and Mark Brown, Sonia Peals Wendt and Greg Wendt;
Brother, Pitner Peals;
Seventeen nieces and nephews;
Twenty great-nieces and nephews;
Special aunt and uncle, Sherry and Bob Long;
Step-son-in-law, Eric Swanson.
A celebration of life service was held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, at Brown Hill Church, with the Rev. John E. Pennington and the Rev. Chris Moore officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The family had a gathering of friends after the graveside.
