Lloyd Barham passed away on Jan. 2, 2019, at Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, Ala.

Lloyd was born in McMinn County, on Dec. 25, 1938. Graduating in 1956 as salutatorian and most athletic of Calhoun High, Lloyd’s fondest stories told were about the comradely of the men’s basketball team. After graduation, he attended Tennessee Wesleyan University, contributing as a team member of the men’s basketball team.

Lloyd, a veteran of the United States Army in 1957, served overseas in Japan during the Vietnam War.

He toured with the American Bowling Congress Association, holding many “300” club awards and championships. Lloyd had a passion for sports and was a “scratch golfer.”

He retired as civil engineer with Boeing Aircraft manufacturing company in Huntsville, Ala., with 20 years of service.

He was 80 years old.

Preceded in death by: his parents, Kenneth Dewitt Barham and Helen Elizabeth Bacon Barham; former wife, Sara Elizabeth Rogers Barham.

He leaves behind: his wife of 32 years, Peggy Lake Barham;

Children, Jack Barham, Ann Barham Powers;

Stepdaughters, Alesia Lake Doran, Charlotte Lake;

Eight grandchildren;

Nine great-grandchildren.

The memorial will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019, at Spring Creek UMC in Riceville, Tenn.
