Johnnye A. Sloan, of Madisonville, joyously entered into heaven on Jan. 11, 2019. Johnnye was a woman of strong faith and great fortitude, loved and admired by family and friends alike. A member of First Baptist Church, Madisonville, she was a woman full of wisdom who loved to have a good laugh and always had a kind word for everyone she met.

She was 92 years old.

Preceded in death by: her husband, Kenneth L. Sloan; parents, Bertha and Floyd Atkins.

Survivors include: her sons, Kenneth L (Debbie) Sloan Jr, Steven Sloan, Donald Sloan, all of Maryville;

Sisters, Carolyn (Curtis) Kenner of Seymour, Marilyn Atkins of Madisonville;

Grandchildren, Kendra (Rodney) Colvin, Kami (Sam) Lambert, Jamison (Justina) Sloan, all of Maryville, Stephanie Sloan (Jason) Lewis of Madisonville, Brittany (Zack) Clark of Memphis, Bradley Sloan of Nashville;

Nine great-grandchildren.

The family received friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home in Madisonville. Graveside service and interment followed at 2:30 p.m., at Haven Hill Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Chris Moore officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to your favorite charity.
