Jim Frye, of Tellico Plains, passed away at 2:20 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, at U.T. Medical Center. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tellico Plains. He was a 60-year member of Unaka Lodge # 651 F & AM. He was formerly employed by Stokley Van Camp and Sea Ray Boats as a truck driver.

He was 86 years old.

Preceded in death by: his wife, Ella Frye; parents, John and Marguerite Pearson Frye; brother, Robert E. Frye.

Survivors include: his sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Douglas Frye, David and Lisa Frye;

Grandchildren and spouses, Michael Dustin Frye and wife Rachel, Chelsi Deann Fugate and husband Eric, William David Frye and wife Aaren, Wesley Keith Frye and wife Taylor, Hanna Elizabeth McDaniel and husband Joshua, Mikayla Ann O’Bryant, Ryan Cole;

Several great-grandchildren;

Sisters, Betty Cook, and Pat Arp;

Brother, Dan Frye;

Best friend, Gary Miller.

Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, at First United Methodist Church of Tellico Plains, with the Rev. Bill Clark officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Tellico Plains.
