Reed K. Torbett Jr., of Madisonville, went to be with the Lord at 1:18 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at his home, after a lengthy illness.
Junior loved the outdoors, motorcycles, music, and hanging out with his friends. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper, and loved to tell of the many jumps he made.
He was 61 years old.
Preceded in death by: his mother, Ruby Gay Torbett; paternal grandparents, George and Elizabeth Torbett, Edith Bowers Torbett; maternal grandparents, Floyd and Annis Gay.
Survivors include: his father, Reed Torbett Sr.;
Sisters, Louise (Ben) Ritchey, all of Madisonville, Dianne (Jerry) Hansen, of Athens;
Brothers, Ronald Torbett, Donald (Cindy) Torbett, all of Madisonville;
Nieces, Kimberly Phillips, Stephanie (Jerod) Richeson;
Nephews, Michael Isbill, Matthew (Amanda) Torbett, Justin (Danielle) Torbett;
Great-nieces and great-nephews, Lucas, Katelyn, John, James, Madelyn, Hunter and Declan;
Best friend and constant companion, Randy (Sheila) Watson.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home in Madisonville. The funeral will follow at 7 p.m. in Biereley-Hale Chapel, with the Rev. Greg Watson officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2019, in Notchey Creek Cemetery, with military honors provided by V.F.W. Post #5156, D.A.V. #93 and American Legion Post #106.
