It's has been a very exciting week in the Livingston house.

Friday Kayla graduated high school. I was good through the whole thing. Only teared up once when she walked across the stage...until we all went down to meet the graduates.

She looked at us and started crying and I don't think there was a dry eye among us. Even Big Nelson and John were crying. She looked so grown up walking across the stage. I am so proud of her.

Monday Kayla celebrated her big number 18. She is officially a grown up now, well at least in years. Real maturity comes with experience, which she will get in time.

In the last few weeks Kayla has shown a maturity I didn't know she had. It is hard not to worry about your kids and wonder if you raised them right but I think Kayla has a good head on her shoulders and will do well. She will have some rough times ahead of her but everybody does.

Kayla also had a doctor's appointment Monday. We got to see the baby. Last time she was there we got to see it too but it was only a little blob. This time it was a bigger. We could see its body parts. It even waved at us.

Right before it moved Kayla said she was hungry and wanted deviled eggs. Dr. Beverley said, "Deviled eggs?" and that's when it moved. I told them it was waving at me and Kayla said no it was moving because it wanted deviled eggs.

They are wrong. It was waving at me. I know it was.

I hate to call the baby "it" but I don't know what else to call it.

I sent a text to my good friend Melissa Kinton and told her she waved at me. She said, "How do you know it's a she?" I said, "I don't but I want it to be."

She told me I shouldn't call it a she yet because what if it's a boy. It will be gender confused before it's born. I don't know about that but I'm not taking any chances.

We have been having some issues on our website with our classified ads. We have had ads showing up on there from last year. We are currently working on this issue and hope to have it solved very soon. I want to apologize to all the businesses this has affected.
The Advocate & Democrat office in Sweetwater and in Madisonville will be closed Monday so that our employees may celebrate Memorial Day with their families. We will re-open Tuesday at 8 a.m. We hope you have a safe holiday.
