Rev. John B. Hunt

Rev. John B. Hunt of Madisonville, passed away at 11:10 p.m., Saturday, June 27, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church and Tellico Masonic Lodge #80. He was a well-known building contractot in Monroe and surrounding counties and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was known for his ability to do the correct thing in life and help anyone in need.

He was 72.

Preceded in death by: parents, Burt and Dovie Hunt; brothers, Rev. Kenneth Hunt, Claude Phillips and Arnold and Wayne Phillips.

Survivors include: wife of 40 years-Betty Parks Hunt;

Daughter and son-in-law-Denise and Mike Brooks of Englewood;

Son and daughter-in-law-John (Johnny) B. Jr. and Wallene Hunt of Madisonville;

Grandchildren-Lacey Brooks Powell of Athens; Bethany Danielle Hunt and Brooke Logan Hunt;

Brothers-Doyle Hunt, Sherald Hunt, Ed Phillips and Hoyt Phillips;

Several nieces and nephews;

Stepdaughter and husband-Donna and Barry Maxwell;

Step-granddaughters-Megan, Kaylyn, Payton and Jordan all of Madisonville;

Brother-in-law and sister-in-law-James (Jimmy) Boyd and Lois Parks of Chattanooga.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m., Tuesday, in Biereley-Hale Chapel, with Rev. John Butler and Rev. Donnie Houston officiating. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the funeral. Masonic service will be at 6:45 p.m. Interment will be 11 a.m., Wednesday in Haven Hill Memorial Gardens. Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, in charge of arrangements.
