Harriet Louise Brush De Boef (Oct. 23, 2009) Born Sept. 30, 1923 to Della Renaud Brush and Lemert C. Brush of Jasper County, Iowa. Graduated with honors from Lynnville, Iowa High School and completed Murphy's Business School in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Served as Y.M.C.A. secretary for several years and was a volunteer Red Cross nurse during World War II. Talented pianist, piano teacher and church organist whose musical talents will be greatly missed. A woman of great faith, her church service also included teaching Sunday School and mission work with V.I.M. and Sager Brown. Floyd and Harriet farmed east of New Sharon, Iowa 48 years before moving to Pella, Iowa and then on to Tennessee in 2000. Preceded in death by: parents, Della and Lemert Brush; brother, Rex; sister, Delores Boggs; and infant daughter, Caroline. Survived by: devoted husband of 62 years-Floyd; Daughters and sons-in-law-Connie Trowbridge and William of Solon, Iowa; and Beverly Taylor and Kevin of Madisonville; Son-David of Las Vegas, Nev.; Grandchildren-Megan Cavett and Shane of Sweetwater; Jennifer Alexander of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Carol Hinrichs and Jonathon of San Diego; Michael De Boef of Beale Air Force Base, Calif.; Wesley Taylor of Clarksville; Corey Taylor of Murfreesboro; Great-grandchildren-Hunter Cavett, Chase Hinrichs and Cheyenne Alexander; Sisters-Mildred Lusk, Bernice Smith and Robert of Lynnville, Iowa; and Lois VanderSchel and Don of Pella, Iowa. A Celebration of Life and interment are pending in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Memorials may be made to UT Hospice, Suite 101, 2270 Sutherland Ave., Knoxville, TN 37919.
