George Arnold Bivens Sr.

George Arnold Bivens Sr. of Tellico Plains, went to be with the Lord at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 3, at his home. He was born Dec. 14, 1942 in Warwick, N.Y. and was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

He was 66.

Preceded in death by: parents, Jake Warren Bivens and Esther Theodoshia White Bivens; brothers, Rev. Beechered Marlin Bivens, Cecil Everett Bivens, Harold Reed Bivens and Iven Dewey Bivens; infant sister; nephews, Ronnie and Junior Bivens; great-nieces-Linda Maynard and Madison Brooks; father-in-law, Bill Henry; and brother-in-law, Ralph Maynard.

Survivors include: wife of 38 years-Faye Henry Bivens;

Sons-George Arnold Bivens Jr., Jeffrey Dion Bivens, all of Tellico Plains; Shawn Allen Bivens of Knoxville; and Jason Woodrow Kelley of Jacksonville, Fla.;

Sisters and brothers-in-law-Freida Bivens Maynard of Madisonville; Artie Bivens Watson of Vonore; Edna and Ronnie Wheeler of Madisonville; and Daisy and Lloyd Bright of Cleveland;

Special nieces-Gwen Holloway of Vonore; and Sena Compton of Lenoir City;

Mother-in-law-Ocie Clemmer Henry of Loudon;

Sisters-in-law-Kathleen Bivens of Madisonville; Brenda Henry of Virginia; Frances Boggess of Sweetwater; Margaret Yates, Barbara Ritchey and Betty Logan, all of Loudon;

Brothers-in-law-Jackie Henry of Loudon; and Bill Henry of Lenoir City.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, in Biereley-Hale Chapel, with Rev. Roger Underwood, Rev. Mike Blair and Rev. J.A. Schaffer officiating. Interment will be in Little Toqua Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday. Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, in charge of arrangements.
