The Great Smoky Mountain Toastmasters of Monroe County has elected new officers for the upcoming Toastmaster year for the local chapter. Toastmasters meet at the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce office in Madisonville on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6:30 p.m.

Officers for the 2008-2009 year include: Grant Fetters, president; an engineer of JTEKT in Vonore; Sharon Fetters, vice president, retired from Merril Lynch; Anne Powell, vice president of Public Relations, communication professor at Pellissippi State; Ron Marble, vice president of membership, retired from DOE, Oak Ridge; and Danny Powell, secretary/treasurer, currently with DOE in Oak Ridge. Each of these officers will serve one year, starting in June.

Toastmasters is a Leadership and Communications organization which trains and assists its members to learn better communication skills through leadership development. Toastmasters meet locally at the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce office in Madisonville, on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m.
