The Rural Vale Elementary School sewer system was re-bid in May, with new bids opened on June 3. The winning bid was Adams and Son Inc. of Sevierville with a cost of $310,000. Other bids received but not accepted were J. S. Haren Company of Athens with a $349,000 bid and East TN Construction Services of Englewood with a $374,500 bid.

The company first awarded the job, Marvin Sledge Construction, did not have the correct license. Sledge’s bid was $304,106.
