The Sweetwater Education Foundation has announced three scholarships which are awarded annually to graduating seniors of Sweetwater High School. 

The 2008 recipient of the W.T. Shope Family Scholarship is Josh Newman, son of Floyd and Diane Newman. The Shope Scholarship was established in 1989 by the family of W.T. Shope.

Jordan Monroe, son of Rick and Dottie Monroe, was awarded the Joe and Carolyn Sherlin Scholarship. The Sherlin Scholarship was established by the Sherlin family in honor of Joe and Carolyn Sherlin and has been awarded annually since 1992.

Daniel Hawkins, son of Gerardo and Christine Hawkins, was the recipient of the Ralph White Scholarship. This scholarship was established by Dr. Ralph and Graciela White in 2002.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic performance and school and community involvement.
