• Daniel Keith Carver, 27, Old Slag Road, Vonore, was banned from Sloan’s of Vonore on June 16 after an employee caught him trying to steal a hat valued at $19.99. The employee told Vonore police officer Kevin Osborne that Carver took the hat from the hardware section of the store and exited the building without paying for the hat. Carver was detained and the hat was recovered.

• On June 13, Jeff Steele reported to Vonore Police Officer Eric Watson that sometime between June 11 and June 13 someone broke a 10-foot by 5-foot window out of the front of the old Teddy Bear Restaurant. Nothing was taken but several empty cabinets had been opened.
