• On June 19, Anthony L. Ervin, 24, Church Street, Vonore, was charged with driving on a revoked license. A Vonore police officer pulled Ervin over because his car had a loud muffler, a cracked windshield, and a broken headlight. Ervin’s license had been suspended after he was charged with leaving the scene of an accident. 

• Katherine Barnes, 33, Plemons Trailer Park, Highway 411, Vonore, reported her medications stolen on June 20. After her husband took her to work, he returned home to find the driver’s side window of a black Blazer rolled down. His wife kept her medications hidden in the Blazer, and when Barnes searched the vehicle, he discovered the medications missing.

• Approximately $2,200 was stolen June 18 from Stephen Sloan, 51, Clearview Drive, Vonore. Sloan called police after he found the money missing from a jar above his refrigerator he kept it in. When an officer asked if anyone had been in the house, Sloan said that besides his wife and stepson, the only person who’d been in the house was a man who had been painting. Sloan had given the man a loan, and the man was doing jobs for Sloan to pay him back. Sloan said that when he confronted the man about the missing money, the man was very quick to change the subject. It was at that point that Sloan called the Vonore Police. The suspect has yet to be identified, and the case has been handed over to detectives for further investigation.

• Michael Littleton, 56, reported to the Sweetwater Police Department jewelry was missing from his home at Christianburg Lane, Sweetwater. Littleton said he had gone to visit relatives and upon returning to his home discovered a $5,000 diamond ring and a $500 gold necklace had both been stolen. Littleton has given names to detectives, who are currently following leads.
