(Last modified: 2008-06-27 09:59:36) On June 25, Sweetwater Police Officer Brandon Cansler had to use a stun gun on a dog to keep it from biting officers, according to a report filed by Officer Chris Francis. Officers responded to a call about vicious dogs running lose on Childress Avenue. Francis said the dogs charged him and he injured his ankle as he ran back to his vehicle. Jason Raby, animal control worker for the city, helped officers secure the gate to close in the animals but when officers went by the residence hours later the dogs were out again. The rope and leash used to secure the gate were gone. Francis was unable to make contact with the dogs’ owner. Copyright © 2008, The Advocate and Democrat |
