The City of Sweetwater will take applications for Volunteer Firefighters and Part-Time Firefighters. Applications are available at City Hall, 203 Monroe Street, Sweetwater. GENERAL NOTIFICATION LETTER

 TO THE PUBLIC AND EMPLOYEES

An environmental firm has completed a study to determine the presence and location of friable and non-friable asbestos material in all buildings of the Monroe County School System. All buildings were inspected in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency guidelines for asbestos containing materials. (i.e., 40 CFR Part 763)

All buildings must be monitored twice each year. At this time, a monitoring/inspection of all buildings is scheduled for May and November 2014.

Asbestos can be hazardous. Therefore; we are committed to taking corrective measures, and our asbestos control efforts will be based on the advice of experts knowledgeable in asbetos control and abatement techniques.

There are copies of the Asbestos Management Plans on file in each school building. The Public does have access to this information.
