The Monroe County Finance Department Requests Proposals for Administration of the Monroe County School System's Flexable Benefits Plan. Sealed RFP's will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. (EST) July 20, 2009. Bids will be opened at 1:00 p.m. on July 21, 2009 at which time representatives of the Monroe County Board of Education and Monroe County Government will meet to publicly open and read the RFP's. Bids will be opened at the Monroe County Board of Education Board Room at 205 Oak Grove Rd, Madisonville, TN 37354. RFP packets may be picked up at the Monroe County Finance Department, 103 College Street South, Madisonville, TN 37354. Bids will be awarded accordingly as prescribed by law, which states "Lowest and Best". A Supreme Court ruling states that the discerning of best lies on those requesting the bids and not on the bidder. The right is also reserved to refuse any and all bids.

The City of Madisonville will have a called Board Meeting on June 29, 2009, at 6:00 p.m., in the Board Room of City Hall, 400 College Street, N, Madisonville, Tennessee.
The purpose of the meeting is hold a public hearing and to pass on second and final reading Ordinance 09-147-O, AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE TAX RATE FOR 2009 PROPERTY TAXES, AND FISCAL YEAR 2009-2010 BUDGET, along with any other business which may arise. The tax rate will remain at $0.52 and there will be a 14% increase in water rates and a 14% increase in sewer rates.
